- 2 tablespoons honey or 100% pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon tahini
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste (Gourmet Garden brand)
- 2 teaspoons ginger paste (Gourmet Garden brand)
- 1 teaspoon lemon paste (Gourmet Garden brand)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 14 ounces lite coconut milk (400 mL)
Dumplings and Garnish
- 16 to 24 ounces dumplings or potstickers, fresh or frozen
- Chili crisp, to taste (for drizzling)
- Chopped scallions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) to prepare for baking the dumplings.
- Make the Sauce: In a 9×13-inch baking pan, whisk together lite soy sauce, gochujang chili paste concentrate, honey, tahini, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, garlic paste, ginger paste, lemon paste, and salt until well combined.
- Add Coconut Milk: Pour the lite coconut milk into the pan with the sauce and whisk again to blend all ingredients into a smooth, creamy sauce.
- Add Dumplings: Place 16 to 24 ounces of dumplings or potstickers into the pan and gently toss them in the sauce to ensure they are coated evenly.
- Bake Covered: Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes to cook the dumplings through in the flavorful sauce.
- Finish Baking: Remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 5 to 10 minutes to slightly caramelize the sauce and give the dumplings a nice texture.
- Garnish and Serve: Take the pan out of the oven, drizzle dumplings with chili crisp cautiously for heat, and sprinkle chopped scallions and sesame seeds over the top. Serve warm alone, or over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
Notes
- The amount of dumplings can be adjusted depending on serving size and pan size.
- Using fresh or frozen dumplings works well; if frozen, no need to thaw before baking.
- Chili crisp adds significant heat; add gradually to taste.
- If gochujang is not available, you can substitute with another Korean chili paste or a mix of chili flakes and a bit of miso paste for similar flavor.
