Scale
Dip Ingredients
- 10 oz frozen chopped spinach (thawed and moisture squeezed out)
- 1½ cups sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 package Knorr Vegetable Soup mix
- 8 oz water chestnuts (drained)
- 3 green onions (chopped, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Spinach: Thaw and drain the spinach thoroughly. Use a clean towel or paper towels to squeeze out excess moisture completely to ensure the dip isn’t watery.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the drained spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, Knorr Vegetable Soup mix, drained water chestnuts, and chopped green onions. Stir well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Chill the Dip: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. This step allows the flavors to meld and intensify, creating a tastier dip.
- Prepare Serving (Optional): If desired, hollow out a round loaf of bread to create a bread bowl and tear the inner bread into bite-sized pieces for dipping.
- Serve: Transfer the chilled spinach dip into the bread bowl or a serving dish. Serve with crackers, bread chunks, or fresh vegetable sticks for dipping.
Notes
- Make sure to squeeze out as much moisture as possible from the thawed spinach to avoid a watery dip.
- The soup mix adds seasoning and flavor, so additional salt is usually not necessary.
- Chilling the dip improves the texture and flavor, so plan ahead.
- Serving in a bread bowl is optional but adds an attractive presentation and edible container.
- This dip can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
