Ingredients
Scale
Pie Crust
- 1 premade graham cracker pie crust
Filling
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 8 oz whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
Topping
- 4 oz whipped topping
- Chopped salted peanuts (optional, for garnish)
- Chocolate sauce (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare Filling: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, peanut butter, and confectioners’ sugar. Whip the mixture until it is smooth and well blended, making sure there are no lumps.
- Fold in Whipped Topping: Gently fold 8 oz of whipped topping into the peanut butter mixture until fully incorporated. This will lighten the texture of the filling.
- Assemble Pie: Pour the prepared filling into the premade graham cracker pie crust. Use a spatula to spread it evenly, filling the crust completely.
- Add Topping: Spread the remaining 4 oz of whipped topping over the top of the pie, smoothing it to the edges to create a uniform layer.
- Chill: Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to allow the filling to set and flavors to meld together.
- Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, sprinkle chopped salted peanuts over the top and drizzle with chocolate sauce if desired. Slice and serve chilled for best taste.
Notes
- You can use natural or creamy peanut butter according to preference, but creamy works best for a smooth filling.
- For a nut-free variation, omit the chopped peanuts and use a nut-free crust.
- Allow the pie to chill for at least 2 hours, but overnight chilling will enhance the texture and flavor.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Chocolate sauce can be homemade or store-bought for convenience.
