Description

A classic Mexican 7 Layer Dip layered with seasoned refried beans, creamy guacamole, tangy sour cream, shredded cheese, fresh tomatoes, black olives, and green onions. Perfect for parties, game days, or as a flavorful appetizer to share with friends and family.

Ingredients

Scale

Bean Layer

  • 32 ounces Refried beans
  • 2 tablespoons Taco seasoning

Guacamole Layer

  • 2 cups Guacamole

Sour Cream Layer

  • 2 cups Sour cream

Cheese Layer

  • 2 cups Cheese, shredded (cheddar or Mexican blend recommended)

Vegetable Toppings

  • 3 cups Tomatoes, diced
  • 2.25 ounces Black olives, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Green onions, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare Bean Mixture: In a bowl, combine the refried beans with taco seasoning. Mix thoroughly until smooth and evenly seasoned.
  2. Layer Beans: Spread the seasoned refried beans evenly in the bottom of a 13” x 9” casserole dish to create the first layer.
  3. Add Guacamole: Carefully spread a layer of guacamole over the refried beans, ensuring an even coverage.
  4. Spread Sour Cream: Layer sour cream on top of the guacamole, spreading gently to keep layers intact.
  5. Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the sour cream layer evenly.
  6. Layer Tomatoes: Add a layer of freshly diced tomatoes spread over the cheese.
  7. Add Olives and Onions: Top the dish with sliced black olives and finely chopped green onions as the final layers.
  8. Chill: Cover the casserole dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients for best flavor and texture.
  • Customize the layers by adding jalapeños or chopped cilantro for extra zest.
  • Best served chilled with tortilla chips for dipping.
  • Can be prepared a day ahead to save time and enhance flavors.
  • For a lighter version, use reduced-fat sour cream and cheese.
