Description

These Honey Garlic Steak Bites offer a flavorful, tender, and juicy appetizer or main dish, featuring marinated top sirloin steak pieces cooked quickly on the stovetop. The combination of honey, teriyaki sauce, garlic, and soy sauce creates a delicious, slightly sweet and savory glaze that’s perfect for any meal occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Marinade

  • 2 pounds top sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup Honey Teriyaki sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s recommended)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a large bowl, combine the honey teriyaki sauce, low-sodium soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and vegetable oil. Whisk thoroughly to blend all ingredients evenly into a flavorful marinade.
  2. Marinate the Steak: Add the 1-inch steak pieces into the marinade. Stir gently to coat all pieces well. Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 8 hours, to allow the flavors to infuse.
  3. Remove Steak From Marinade: After marinating, use a slotted spoon to remove the steak pieces from the marinade, letting excess liquid drip off. Discard the remaining marinade to avoid contamination.
  4. Cook the Steak Bites: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add half of the steak pieces to the hot skillet, making sure not to overcrowd it to ensure proper searing. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 4 minutes until the steak reaches medium-well doneness. Remove the cooked steak bites to a plate and tent with foil to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining steak pieces.
  5. Serve: Serve the steak bites immediately, garnished with fresh chopped parsley if desired. Enjoy the juicy, sweet, and savory flavors!

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the skillet to ensure a good sear; cook the steak bites in batches.
  • The steak is best marinated for at least 2 hours but can be refrigerated for up to 8 hours for more flavor.
  • If you prefer your steak cooked differently, adjust the cooking time accordingly.
  • Use fresh garlic for best flavor rather than pre-minced garlic.
  • This recipe pairs well with steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
