Ingredients
Scale
Roll Ups
- 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Au Jus Sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Assemble Tortillas: Lay out the flour tortillas and evenly distribute the thinly sliced roast beef and shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese across each tortilla.
- Roll Tortillas: Roll up each tortilla tightly from the bottom up, folding in the sides to secure the filling and prevent it from falling out during baking.
- Prepare Seasoned Butter: Brush the outside of each rolled tortilla with melted butter. Then sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley evenly over the butter-coated surface.
- Bake Roll Ups: Place the prepared roll ups on the lined baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until they are golden brown and the cheese inside has melted.
- Make Au Jus Sauce: While the roll ups bake, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and let cook gently for 5–7 minutes to develop rich flavors.
- Serve: Remove the roll ups from the oven and serve warm with the hot au jus dipping sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- You can substitute mozzarella or provolone with Swiss cheese for a different flavor.
- For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free tortillas.
- Adjust seasoning in the au jus to your taste preference, adding more soy sauce for saltiness or Worcestershire for tang.
- These roll ups can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
- Leftover au jus can be refrigerated and reheated for up to 3 days.
