Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 2 chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp butter
Broth and Sauce
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (divided)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Noodles and Garnish
- 2 servings ramen noodles
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1-2 tsp chili oil (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Season the Chicken: Combine chili powder and paprika, then coat both sides of the chicken thighs or breasts evenly. Heat a hot pan over medium-high heat and sear the chicken until charred and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side depending on thickness. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Sauce: In the same pan, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and sauté half of the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in heavy cream and stir gently to combine into a creamy garlic sauce. Keep warm on low heat.
- Prepare the Broth: In a separate pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the remaining minced garlic and sauté briefly until aromatic. Pour in chicken broth and soy sauce, bring to a gentle simmer to develop a rich, flavorful base.
- Cook the Ramen: Cook ramen noodles according to package instructions until tender but firm. Drain well.
- Assemble the Dish: Add cooked ramen noodles into the broth pot and stir to combine. Divide the noodles and broth between two bowls. Top each with the seared chicken and drizzle generously with the creamy garlic sauce.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions and finish with a drizzle of chili oil for extra heat and flavor. Serve immediately to enjoy the warmth and depth of the dish.
Notes
- Use chicken thighs for juicier, more flavorful meat, but breasts work well too.
- Adjust chili powder and chili oil quantities to control the spice level to your preference.
- If preferred, add an egg cooked soft-boiled or poached as an additional topping.
- Ramen noodles could be substituted with other Asian-style noodles if desired.
- For a thicker sauce, simmer the creamy garlic sauce a bit longer until it coats the back of a spoon.
