Feta Rolls
- 200 g feta cheese, cut into small rectangular sticks
- 6 sheets phyllo pastry
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Hot Chili Lemon Honey Sauce
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 small red chili, finely chopped (or ½ tsp chili flakes)
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
- Prepare phyllo pastry: Lay one sheet of phyllo on a clean, dry surface and brush it evenly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush with butter again. Then cut the layered sheets into strips about 6–8 cm wide.
- Assemble rolls: Place a feta cheese stick at one end of each phyllo strip. Fold the sides over the feta, then roll tightly into a cylindrical shape to enclose the cheese securely.
- Brush and sprinkle: Brush the outside of each roll with melted butter. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds for extra texture and flavor.
- Bake rolls: Arrange the rolls on the lined baking tray and bake them in the oven for 15–20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Make chili lemon honey: While the rolls are baking, gently warm honey in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the finely chopped chili, lemon zest, and lemon juice, cooking for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat.
- Drizzle and garnish: Once the rolls are baked, drizzle the hot chili lemon honey over them and garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
