Description

This Creamy Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread is a decadent and flavorful recipe combining tender seasoned chicken, rich and creamy Alfredo sauce, and cheesy garlic bread. Perfect as a hearty appetizer or a comforting main dish, this recipe features a golden crusty French bread base loaded with layers of buttery garlic, melted Mozzarella, and Parmesan-studded Alfredo sauce for an irresistible taste experience.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (divided)
  • ¾ teaspoon black pepper (divided)
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Alfredo Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garlic Bread

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ½ tablespoon parsley
  • 2 cups freshly grated Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: In a small bowl, mix ¾ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and paprika. Season both sides of the chicken pieces evenly with this spice blend.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil once hot. Add the seasoned chicken pieces and cook until browned on the surface, about 6 minutes. Stir occasionally and continue cooking until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Transfer the cooked chicken to a clean plate, cover, and keep warm. Remove any burnt bits from the skillet to prepare for the sauce.
  3. Prepare Alfredo Sauce: Reduce heat to medium-low and add 2 tablespoons butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to brown it. Stir in heavy cream, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer, cooking and stirring frequently for around 8 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats a spoon. Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese until smooth. Adjust seasoning with the remaining salt and pepper.
  4. Prepare Garlic Bread: Preheat the oven to 400°F. Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place cut side up on a large baking sheet. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Spread this garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread. Bake the bread in the oven for 6 minutes.
  5. Assemble and Bake: Remove the bread from the oven carefully. Spread a thick layer of Alfredo sauce over the bread halves. Sprinkle 1 cup of Mozzarella cheese on each half, then evenly distribute the cooked chicken pieces on top. Add another layer of Alfredo sauce over the chicken. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, hot, and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven, slice the bread into portions, and serve warm. Enjoy the creamy, cheesy goodness!

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is fully cooked to 165°F for safety.
  • Do not brown the garlic in the Alfredo sauce to prevent bitterness.
  • For a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes to the seasoning or sauce.
  • Leftover sauce can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated gently.
  • For a lower-fat version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or milk, but the sauce will be less rich.
